Split Mobile Update - 4
This update overhauled the movement and character switching system to now support mobile. Players can now enable 'Mobile Mode' in the level's menu, which will turn on mobile mode. Once enabled, new buttons will appear on the HUD that the player can use to move and perform their abilities. Enemy attacks were removed from the build because they were causing too many bugs. There are a few known bugs for the new mobile system which are listed below:
- In the scene that involves emotion switching, while in mobile mode, the player loses direction when entering the trigger area.
- Switching scenes resets the mobile mode, so players have to re-enable it.
- Dashing while in mobile mode does not account for which way the player is facing like in regular mode.
- Switching emotions while having abilities active does not reset them, which messes with switching.
- The player sometimes gets stuck between two emotions instead of all four.
These two bugs are pretty major, so no console update will be coming until they are fixed. The plan for the next development sprint is to address those bugs, as well as any others that are currently causing technical debt. Once the build is cleaned further, more features can be developed. The main technical goals would be to include console support and overhaul the enemies.
